Take a Great Vacation to Greece

Go back thirty years and most people in this country were afraid to leave the country! Those brave enough to set foot on foreign soil normally did so in Spain or France, the two closest countries that can truly be described as being foreign soil.

Fast forward thirty years and things are quite different. Now everyone wants to try to see the world, and that means travelling to farther flung places than Spain! Unfortunately for a lot of people, continents other than Europe are just out of the question in terms of money. It always costs more to leave this continent and this is mostly to do with the distance that you have to travel. The price of flights is largely dictated by how far you have to fly, so understandably it costs a lot to get out of Europe.

This doesn't mean that you can't find some places in Europe to take a vacation at that really push the boundaries of what we are used to in England though. A good example of this would be Greece. Although a lot of people think that the Greek islands are mostly made up of places that have been overrun with English tourists, this couldn't be further from the truth. Granted, there is the odd town on most of the islands that has been changed irrevocably in order to appeal to the masses coming from England, but that is not to say that you can't travel five miles down the road from these places and discover the most beautiful desolate beaches that look like they should be in the Caribbean. You will also discover that there are some truly wonderful ancient Greek ruins on most of the islands which are so far removed from any architecture that you could possibly see in Britain.

Of course, a lot of people don't want to admit to this, but it is also nice to have somewhere that is a little reminiscent of Britain whilst we are away which is why a place like Rhodes Town is a bit of a comfort. Rhodes is very much a traditional Greek island, but it is pocketed with places that have been changed to meet the British market. This means that you can get the best of both worlds, whenever you want.

Perhaps the best thing about Greece though is the climate. When in the Dodecanese islands, which account for around 12 of the Greek islands, you can expect temperatures well into the mid nineties and above in the peak summer months and by the back end of October, you should still be swimming in the sea comfortably.

To find great Holidays to Greece all you have to do is jump on any computer and look online. You will find an incredible range of deals available, and it really is not an expensive place to visit. There are flights from almost all of the areas of the UK, and you shouldn't have to spend too much at all to be able to enjoy a holiday that might be a bit different from what you have grown accustomed to.
